Piazza della Repubblica
There are 5 images in this gallery.
Piazza della Repubblica marks the ancient center of the city, built on a grid by the Romans. On a map, it's easy to see that order reigns in the north-south-east-west orientation of the streets within a few blocks of the Piazza della Repubblica, but then the streets begin to twist and turn as Florence grew.
